Mold getting a costly hold on homes
Ten Things To Know About Mold
By Rochelle Sharpe, USA TODAY
Texas and California have had the highest number of claims for mold. As a result, many people there are finding it nearly impossible to get insurance when trying to buy a house.

Karen Porath says toxic mold ruined the health of her 22-month-old son.

HOMEOWNERS' GUIDE TO MOLD

Want to know more about protecting your family and home from cannibalizing molds that consume structural beams and studs and emit tiny poisons?

Vicki Lankarge, accomplished journalist and author, tackles the subject and helps homeowners make sense of something we haqve all downplayed but shouldn't - mold growing in our homes.

McGraw-Hill and Vicki Lankarge proudly present a book entitled "What Every Home Owner Needs to Know About Mold."

IMPORTANT-
What Consumers Need to Know About Mold Cleaners and Disinfectants

"Household Bleach" is neither effective nor "safe" if used incorrectly as a mold cleaner"

To read more click here: http://911mold.com/bleach_mold_no.htm

Do NOT Use Chlorine Bleach to Kill Mold or Algae!

Do NOT use chlorine bleach to kill mold or disinfect moldy areas. It is not an effective or lasting killer of mold and mold spores. Bleach is good only for changing the color of the mold. CHLORINE BLEACH IS INEFFECTIVE IN KILLING MOLD FOR THREE REASONS:

(1) IT IS TOO DILUTED AND THUS TOO WEAK TO PERMANENTLY KILL MOLD.

(2) WHAT LITTLE KILLING POWER CHLORINE BLEACH DOES HAVE IS DIMINISHED SIGNIFICANTLY AS THE BLEACH SITS IN WAREHOUSES AND ON GROCERY STORE SHELVES OR INSIDE YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS [50% loss in killing power in just the first 90 days inside a never opened jug or container] Chlorine constantly escapes through the plastic walls of its containers.

(3) ITS ION STRUCTURE PREVENTS CHLORINE FROM PENETRATING INTO POROUS MATERIALS SUCH AS DRYWALL AND WOOD---IT JUST STAYS ON THE OUTSIDE SURFACE, WHEREAS MOLD HAS ENZYME ROOTS GROWING INSIDE THE POROUS CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS.

Insurance Reform and Bad Faith Issues

Americans for Insurance Reform--AIR

Big insurance companies want to make their problem your problem.
Their problem:

Poor business practices, shady accounting,
money lost in the stock market, not enough profits. Theyve even scared some people into fighting their battle for them, like doctors, patients, homeowners and small businesses.
Why do they want to shift their responsibility for mismanagement to us?
What else are they up to?
Americans for Insurance Reform
Insurance company proposals to weaken our civil justice system
only make rich insurance companies richer.
SAY NO!
FIGHT BACK!

Interesting article on Healthy Homes that mentions John Bowers

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron:

"When you come into the land of Canaan, which I give you for a possession, and I put a leprous disease ["mold" or "fungus"] in a house in the land of your possession, then he who owns the house shall come and tell the priest ["certified industrial hygienist"], 'There seems to me to be some sort of disease in my house.' Then the priest shall command that they empty the house before the priest goes to examine the disease, lest all that is in the house be declared unclean; and afterward the priest shall go in to see the house. And he shall examine the disease ["visual inspection"]; and if the disease is in the walls of the house with greenish or reddish spots, and if it appears to be deeper than the surface, then the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days ["containment/testing"]. And the priest shall come again on the seventh day, and look; and if the disease has spread in the walls of the house, then the priest shall command that they take out the stones in which is the disease and throw them into an unclean place outside the city ["licensed land fill"]; and he shall cause the inside of the house to be scraped round about, and the plaster that they scrape off they shall pour into an unclean place outside the city; then they shall take other stones and put them in the place of those stones, and he shall take other plaster and plaster the house ["remediation/operations & maintenance plan"]. If the disease breaks out again in the house, after he has taken out the stones and scraped the house and plastered it, then the priest shall go and look; and if the disease has spread in the house, it is a malignant leprosy ["too far gone"] in the house; it is unclean. And he shall break down the house, its stones and timber and all the plaster of the house; and he shall carry them forth out of the city to an unclean place ["demolition"]. Moreover he who enters the house while it is shut up shall be unclean until the evening; and he who lies down in the house shall wash his clothes; and he who eats in the house shall wash his clothes ["decontamination"]. But if the priest comes and makes an examination, and the disease has not spread in the house after the house was plastered, then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, for the disease is healed ["clearance testing"]."

Leviticus 14:33-48 (Revised Standard Version)
